For the first time ever, we’ve an android smart-phone made by Google – both the hardware and software comes with the Google-built stamp.

Design

Pixel comes with a seamless glass-aluminum body design. Complimented with smooth surfaces and curved edges, to make it easy to grip. It measures 143.80 (height) x 69.50 (width) x 8.60 (thickness) and weighs 143 grams.

It’s a minimalistic design style with the finger print sensor located at the back (like all recent Nexus phones). It looks smart and should be ergonomic to handle, with the only cause of concern being the smudges the back glass is sure to pick up.

It comes in two colour variants of Quite Black and Very Silver. And two size variants of 5’ and 5’5 inches.

Camera

Google claims Pixel camera comes with an 89 DxOMark Mobile score; which Google says is the highest rated smart-phone camera ever. Equipped with a 12.3 MP sensor, Large 1.55um pixels and f/2.0 aperture, pixel camera certainly proves to be very handy in taking beautiful shots.

The video includes taking QHD capabilities and better all round performance.

Adding on to it’s camera capabilities, Google has announced Pixel phones will get unlimited storage option in their (cloud) photos app!

Display & Battery

The phone comes in two version of a 5 Inches AMOLED and a 5.5 Inches QHD AMOLED displays, with a resolution of 1080×1920 Pixels at a PPI of 441 and a 2.5D tech at a PPI of 534 respectively.

The non-removable battery are 2770 mAh and 3450 mAh respectively. Google is promising a 7 hours battery life in just 15 minutes of charging.

Processor

The Pixel phone is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and it comes equipped with a 4 GB of RAM. The phone range begins with a non-expandable 32 GB internal storage with higher storage available for more price. It does not support external storage.

Android 7.1 Nougat

Android 7.1 Nougat is being released with this phone. Pixel promises to be the first phone coming with Google assistant built-in to the new OS. Now your phone can help you:

• Keep travel tabs.
• Basically be your perfect assistant.
